About

Build a Dean is a blog about the deconstruction and reconstruction of my self being. The Art of Self Improvement is something I have taken a huge interest in. I have never been the most outgoing, provocative person in the world and this blog will be a medium for me to express myself and grow into the person I know I can be.

Every living person has flaws, it’s part of being human. I want to share my flaws with you, deconstruct them and try to construct a better version of me. A me I feel comfortable with, a me I feel happy with and a me I will succeed with. This is not to say that I’m not happy with myself, but I know that I can personally improve and I want to strive to reach my ultimate state of happiness. Is there even an ultimate state of happiness? Who knows? I’m not going to stop until I find out though.

This blog will be a timeline on which I can look back on in future years to come and reflect on the improvement, or possible disimprovement of my life. I think we will stick with improvement though!

“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.” – Ernest Hemingway

  1. I stopped eating and exercising to lose weight; now my goal is to get stronger. (Pushups anyone?) It must be working because I gained a pound a week. (Sigh.) Thanks for liking my post, “Frugalfish Friday.”

  2. All the best Dean in your journey of self-improvement! It starts with you wanting to improve and better yourself and take steps in the appropriate direction…which you have. There’s nothing wrong in being happy with the way one is, in fact it’s important to be happy with one’s self and accept yourself with your flaws whatever they may be. But being complacent is not desirable. Willingness to work on those flaws is what’s needed and if one doesn’t improve and evolves with time then they perish… I’m sure in time when you look back on this timeline you will see the improvement yourself… so let’s stick with improvement!

    1. Thanks so much. Exactly, it’s a great starting point to further myself. I’m very much in agreement with that. You have to accept yourself and know that you’re unique in a good way. I hope so and I look forward to seeing the improvement and journey through this blog. Thanks for this comment, it was wonderful!
